I endeavor to examine the concepts of truth and honesty within the contexts of society, social behavior, and human nature. Through my work I aim to, not answer, but address and explore these subjects through the figure. I use physiognomy in my portrayals to create drama, as well as an inherent ugliness in the figures. I often feel as though it would be easier to see and tackle issues we face as a society if only people and situations were presented as they are, rather than as a wolf in sheep's clothing. All too often, I find that whether it is politics, media, or religion, some of the biggest dangers are those hidden by fake compassion and an alligator smile..
